can i use time capsule as a Hard Drive on my network but not use it as the router?
i want to use time capsule to back up through my network which i already have. is there any way i can connect it to my network without it being used as the router. i have a windows machine connected directly to my router but i would use the time capsule on my macbook.
Just turn off the wireless function as well as the DHCP server. Then it'll just behave as a wired network hard drive. Apple's Bonjour will find it just fine.
You can either plug in more hard drives and printers using the rear USB port (w/ USB hub if necessary) and you can use them just fine.
